Hi Everyone, It was a great first week of competition for our athletic teams! On Monday, the boys tennis team traveled to Adrian College for the Adrian Invitational against some tough competition. Freshmen Hadi Nasser and Nassem Aoude won their doubles flight, and the team finished in 2nd place overall. On Tuesday, the team rolled past Garden City with a strong 8-0 victory. On Friday, we hosted 8 schools at the annual Muldowney/Snell Tennis Tournament at DHS, Crowley Park, and Edsel Ford. Our athletes had great success both individually and as a team. Big thanks to Coaches Doug Marks, James Carter, and Allan Farhood for running such a great event! Also on Tuesday, the boys soccer team opened KLAA play at Livonia Stevenson. The Pioneers battled hard but came up short, 3-0. On Wednesday, our football teams traveled to South Lyon for a scrimmage against Woodhaven, Howell, and South Lyon and had a strong showing. The team also enjoyed a meaningful evening at the annual Father-Son Dinner and Helmet Decal Night, a tradition that builds team unity and pride. The girls field hockey team opened their season on the road at Farmington, falling 7-1. The girls varsity volleyball team traveled to Tecumseh for a tournament, taking on Ypsilanti Lincoln, Adrian Madison, and Onsted. The JV volleyball team also competed at Tecumseh on Thursday, traveled to Adrian Friday, and then won the Melvindale JV Invite on Saturday. Our freshman volleyball team had a great weekend too, finishing 2nd at the Melvindale Freshman Invite. On Saturday, our girls swim team competed at Riverview’s Rock and Roll Relays. The Pioneers finished 7th overall as a team, highlighted by a 1st-place finish in the 700 Long Relay. Cheerleading hosted a Youth Clinic on Friday, which drew a great turnout of future Pioneers and brought tremendous spirit into the week. Girls Golf and Cross Country trained hard throughout the week as they prepare to officially begin their seasons this week.
